This is as bad as it gets on the boardwalk at Magee Marsh. My 2004 study showed that at peak usage between 800 and 900 were on the boardwalk. I would estimate around 800 today. This was the longest and heaviest knot I saw.The temperature was cool and the birds were up high making viewing difficult, and mis-identification common.
Winds out of the north kept both variety and numbers down. Tuesday May 15, should be spectacular anywhere along the lake.
